I just wanted to see if anyone has drawn the little naches rifle tag. just wondering how good of hunt it is. It looks like a good hunt due to the time OCT 1-10 and no other elk hunts going on at the same time. They should still be bugleing at that time. Anyway any information would be great. Thanks

During regular season its packed so if you got a tag with few hunters i would be very envious. If its a bull tag, you should have a very good chance at a big bull if u work hard.

Thats my first choice everyyear, there is a ML season big bull hunt going on at the same time in that unit. But i really want to hunt them big bulls in the rut with my rifle. When we drew 6 years ago, we lucked out cause there was still quite a few bulls bugling towards the end of october.

Dugan:

Thats a tough draw, but a good one. My buddy drew in 04 and knocked down a 330 gross 6x6. Its no secrete how good that place is if you have the coveted early rifle tag.

Start praying NOW!

This one has been at the top of my list for 8 or 9 years now, maybe this is my year. Would be a great hunt.

thanks for the info. I have 9 points and wondered if it was a hunt worth using them on. my dad has 9 points as well so we may go partners on it. anyway thanks for the input.

Little Naches maybe the best elk unit in the state between any of the peaches ridge tags and then the early rife hunt its a hard one to beat. I know that it will be on my list this year.

The disabled hunt is at the same time as well. Oct. 1-10. Only 3-5 disabled tags these days for 3,500-5,000 applicants as opposed to 15 disabled tags for 55 applicants in 95'. I have 7pts and the Little Natches is #1 (been hunting there since the 70s)and Teanaway #2.

As said above its a great unit with lots of huge bulls! The rut is definately still on but not quite like the 3rd week in September. Up by Ravens Roost and head North along the crest trail. If you can pack in and set-up camp...you will have no problem locating large herd bulls.
