AZ max points

Are the max points applied to only your first choice or first and second.
Any ideas on what the max number is this year in Arizona

For Elk I think there are 2 max point holders with 17 points.

When they draw they look at your first choice, then your second. If both are full they through you out till the next "round" when your other choices are considered.

Thanks for the post I know some one who is close to that number I was wondering how the Max point round works.

Do a search for it. There are active posts and week/month old posts that will tell you than what you want to know. Just please don't make everybody post it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-10-06 AT 04:05PM (MST)[p]Points are used on the 3rd through 5th choice round. You lose them if you draw any tag in any round. You had better not put anything you would not want to forfit your points for on your application as any choice.

The applicants in the top points pool are reserved 20% of the tags. They run that draw round first. Basically, the program looks to see if you are in the top pool that 20% of the tags can be issued to. Ties on points go to the best random number. The 10% nonresident cap applies to all rounds, so it is possible (probable in some hunts?) that no or not many nonresident tags get past the max points round. The max points round applies to the first two picks.
