Its been years , I grew up in Gallup and we hunted 10 . It was once a GREAT muley unit as they closed it for about 5 years , and once they opened it it was awesome . Unfortunately it in my mind has been mismanaged and isn't what it once was .
As for elk , its a better elk unit than deer and has some big bulls .I went on my first bow hunt for elk in unit 10 and the rest is history as I've been bow hunting for 14 years now .There is a game warden who is down working out of the Las Cruces office right now , his name is Storm Usrey .He grew up there and knows that unit very well , give him a buzz , he may help line you out.Pretty good unit in my mind....
