Arizona Bulls - Video

What about all the wild fires? Looks like a lot of cheat grass around. Are you guys burning up down there yet? We sure are here in Southern Utah.

All that aside, those are some great Bulls. Sure looks like you had a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Can't wait till the draw...Few more weeks!! Definitely a normal hot summer so far here in Phoenix, but the summer rains are starting up north. Good luck to all.

That gets the heart pumping.
Its hard to believe their racks are that large already.
Any idea of the altitude shown in the video?
looks like the grass is tall, but drying out.
great shots.

Great Video... We saw them Bulls on Monday or Tuesday of last week. Good luck in the draw.... Thanks!

Those bulls like they have been affected by the drought, just not making it up top. If those get your heart pumping then you might have a heart attack seeing bulls out there that are a lot bigger than the ones in the video. Good footage though, but only average bulls.

Thanks for posting the link to our footage Widowmaker. We have filmed these bulls for the last three years now and they have never had fronts like these. We are just hoping that the backs will catch up to the fronts in the next couple of weeks.

KO, what's up? How's life treatin ya up in God's Country? It's hot down here!!! Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to make it up that way pretty soon. Great video too, gets me pumped up.

Hey Joel,
I guess that means you didn't take the job? Things are good here. Hopefully they will be great in a few weeks after the draw!

Here's a bull with respectable fronts...........

rackem406,

Don't forget its early... Those antlers are just fine for this time of year. Drought or no Drought-what a 380 bull last year is going to be a 370 bull this year.... I'll take my chances-Oh yea I already have. CAN'T WAIT TILL THE DRAW!!!

Based on what I'm seeing any mature bull will be done growing in about 3 weeks. Don't get me wrong, there is a bull in that group on the video that should go 360. I don't know though, they're looking pretty tipped out on the video. But if you do your homework and spend some time out in the woods you will find the real WOOD. Good luck in the draw.

rackem406,

So on a bad year-this year included.. The antler growth is 1" inch a day. That makes for a pretty nice Bull!

Nice job on the video.

I'd say they have at the very least three more weeks before they are done. On a bad drought year you can expect a 5% to 10% drop in antler growth. I think this year will be OK from what I've seen so far. It obviously won't be like the past three years but it won't be as bad as 96 or 02.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-27-06 AT 10:26PM (MST)[p]The video is sweet. I don't know how you got that quality on such a small file.

This video I'm linking really sucks, but you can see the overall frame and size of this bull. While I agree that a lot of the bulls have a lot of growing to do, the truly big monsters are almost there. This is from 11 days ago. A lot of balled up bulls and one that is way ahead.

All of this footage just reasures me that come fall there is no place I would rather be elk hunting than the state of AZ

Very cool, but unfortunatly in an attempt to hurt USO Arizona has made it impossible for me (a non res) to draw a tag for about 17 years :-(, maybe they'll still be some world class bulls there in lets say 2025.

I just about ran off the road trying to avoid one about that size last week driving back from Farmington NM. I was coming down off of the rim. The bull was walking parallel to the road and decided to cross right in front of me.

This is the first year I have put in for elk since moving back to Arizona. Here's hoping I have another encounter with that bull!

Great video.
Thanks for making my morning.
