NM Unit 23 first archery

Anybody have any suggestions on which end of the unit is better, or a specific area, for the early archery hunt? Any help for a kentucky girl would be greatly apprieciated. Have hunted unit's 9 and 13, but not this far southwest.

congrats kentuckygirl! I happen to have hunted that unit last year. Get in shape. The terain where the bulls hang is rough! Straight upand down. The bulls weren't rutting yet but were gettin cranked up, very noisy from about 4am till about 30 minutes after sunup. Best advice I can give is get up above them before light and cow call. If you want more info... where in unit let me know. All the locals told me that the next NM record would come from 23.
