Wy Area 91

I drew a tag for Area 91. I will be hunting with some freinds who live in the area. Anyone have an idea what type of bulls are in this area? I don't think it is a migration area. I'll also have a SE deer tag for Idaho at the same time with access to private ground in Idaho. I plan on hunting mid October. Not sure if a 300 class bull is possible in this area or not.

if you see a 300 class bull in that area you better drop the hammer on him, because they don't get much bigger than that there. There is a few exceptions but a 300 class bull is very good in that area. if you have anymore questions just ask, I grew up there in the valley

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I should take the first decent bull I see. How's the mule deer hunting across the border in Idaho? I may concentrate more on the deer than the elk if the trophy potential is there.

While there used to be decent deer in that part of SE Idaho, the population has really declined in the past few years. The genetics are still there, of course, and it is always possible to find a good buck. I have hunted this area for several years now, and while I can find deer, I have yet to see a single buck that got my adrenaline pumping. I hunt this unit now just as a place for my kids to take the first buck they see. For trophy deer we go elsewhere. It is not what it used to be.
