Anyone have any info on where to look for a good bull in this unit? I've spent some time there, mostly on the blue mtn side... but not for years. My dad finally drew a muzzleloader tag there after putting in for 12 yrs. We'd like to head down in a couple of weeks to start scouting. Any specific locations to concentrate... where we won't bump into outfitters????

My brother and cousin hunted it last year. Most of the rifle hunters hunted the blues. North and south elk ridge may be a sleeper. Outfitters will be on the whole unit. More on the blues, since you have better glassing. It was still warm last year and with the end of the rut, the elk were not as vocal on elk ridge last year, as I've seen in the past. It's a fun hunt. Good luck.

They should still be a bugling at that time, I know during the ML for deer they are just going crazy, You should have a good hunt, You will be able to glass alot different areas from the road, About the end of the month would be a good time to start scouting, I have some friends that live down that way, and they are see a few nice ones up on the mountain,
