Hello everybody - Hope you all did better in the draws than I did.

I just wanted to let you know that "Idaho's Greatest Elk", the 2nd book in my series (following "Idaho's Greatest Mule Deer) is almost done and will hopefully be ready within about two months.

If you have any good old-time Idaho elk hunting photos or know of any great or interesting bulls or historic elk stories or journals that you would like to see in the book, please get in touch with me as soon as possible, as we are getting close to the end. We would like to see the book be as inclusive as possible in effort to preserve Idaho's elk hunting heritage.

If you know of any or are interested in helping, please give me a shout at [email protected]

Thanks, and hope you will all enjoy the end result! Ryan

Will be looking forward to this edition as well, if it is as good as the Mule Deer one, you are doing good.

I hate to set a particular standard, but 360 net is a line I have had in mind, however I would fudge on it for good field photos or something unique and of interest (freaky antlers, old-time photos, etc.) I tend to use the "you know it when you see it" formula :)

Looking forward to your book. Bought the last one for my father a couple of Christmas' ago; you can bet I will pony-up for this one as well!

Keep us posted,

Ras

What side of the State are you living? Have you stopped by Downwindarchery? They have a picture of a women bowhunter with a 360 ish Bull.

Hello Ryan,
Love your book. I received it as a birthday present in Elk/Muley hunting camp since my bday is Oct 13th. Its my ultimate favorite. We have some great stories, but not quite the trophies you are looking for. We hunt unit 50. No luck in my draw either, but hunting muleys and my cousin and his friend drew. So looking forward to Idaho!!
Love you guys

PS Hello Kilowat (Brian) I've been hibernating but out now ready for hunting!!!

Idahoelk, thanks for the lead. I received a picture of that one from her husband (a good friend of mine). Awesome bull.

Ruttroe (great handle, by the way), appreciate the comments. Hope you will like this one as well. Have some great stuff coming your way here shortly. Good luck on your hunts this fall.

RUTTROE,

Fanci, was wondering where you had been. Keep meaning to stop by your dad's business and see if you were there but the last few times to H-burg it has always been late and then lunch and head back home.

What did you draw this year, anything good? Then too I guess anything drawn would be good compared to staying home during the hunting season.

Brian

Hello Brian,
Well, I'll have to catch up to you. I'm working in H-burg. Didn't draw but putting in for the second draw so wish me luck!! Headin to Idaho to hunt muleys for sure but it would be nice to draw a bull tag! I'm going later this year, leaving Oct 22-nov 1. We just cleaned up deer camp for A-zone and really ready for buck huntin' here. Saw the neatest thing Sunday a black bobcat. My dad couldn't believe it, we've never seen a black one. pretty cool! Talk to you soon
