Idaho elk unit 18

my partner and I drew controlled elk tags for unit 18 and were loooking for any information on hunting that unit. We have pack animals and were thinking about packing into the Hells Canyon Wilderness. Anyone familiar with the area?

Congrats on a really good tag first of all. I know a few people that had those tags last year and they went a combined 3 for 4 on bulls. Two being five points and the third a 360 class bull. I personally know very little about the unit and have actually never set foot in it. What I do know is that it is very rugged and has limited access so taking the pack animals is a very good start. Hopefully you can get some more info from someone else.
