colorado diy archery hunt

Hi all!
Well I didn't get picked in NM again! I think I am going to buy an otc elk tag for colorado but I don't have a clue as to where to go... maybe 80 or 81. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Need to stay close to NM, budget and all! Thanks

i lived in no. colorado until last week and dont know if i can get back there for archery elk. i now live in thatcher, AZ and am thinking the same as you, a hunt to so. colorado with a 'statewide' tag but am not familiar with so. colorado.

Great kentucky girl! I'm looking at between saguache and monte vista on the advice of a local friend. Were the bulls actively bugling yet when you were there last year? I know it was unusually hot but I don't know how late in the season to go.
