I was looking into buying a bipod and wanted to see if any of you have had any good or bad experiences with certain ones.
I'm mostly interested in Versa-Pods model III bipod but I'm also considering the Harris Pivoting bipod.
I've also looked at the snip pod but didn't really like it.
I like that the Versa-pod is detachable but not really sure if it is as durable as a Harris bipod.
Any info would be appreciated.

I bought a pair and wouldn't go out without them. It accounted for the longest shot I've ever made on an elk. I bought the steady stixs, but definately a good investment.

When hunting big game and varmits, never go afield without a Harris bipod, attached to weapon of choice.Have 2 of the pivoting 27"ers.Leaving in a few days for a Az Muz Antelope hunt, will have a Harris Bipod attached to My austin&halleck "For Sure".Get 1,a Bipod will make a difference, for you "SOMEDAY" ---

I prefer B-Square bipods over harris... I hate all the external springs and crap that hang up on stuff that harris uses. B-Square is a much cleaner design.

But Bipods really are only good for areas where I have a good shooting surface. For general hunting I prefer SteadySticks as well (on my second pair now after wearing out my first ones).

The bipod Tony Diebold offers out of his outfitting company in Nevada is outstanding. I purchased one prior to last season as an aid in teaching my teenage daughter to achieve hunting accuracy from field shooting positions and couldn't be happier with the outcome. It's a well made product.

I have the Harris on both of my guns and love them. I was thinking of going to the snipe pod just so I can detach it from the gun, but still not sure. The Harris is the pivoting one, but it does add some weight.

I had a Harris and gave it to my buddy. I don't like any extra weight on my rifle. Instead I made a pair of shooting sticks that fold up and fit on my fanny pack. The country I hunt is mostly up and down (steep)and the bipods aren't flexible enough for me.

I have both the Versa pod and the Harris. I like both of them, my Harris is the solid mount and is a bit more stable than the Versa pod,but the Versa pod gives you a little bit of room to swivel the rifle. The Versa pod also is more adjustable in leg lenght than the Harris, but as already said, the Harris is more stable.

Go with the Versa-Pod...allows for enough rifle swivel and comes with an extra attachment for a second rifle.

Thanks for the info. I decided to go with the Versa-Pod like I originally planed. Good luck to all of you on your hunts.
