california 405 klamath bull YEA

That is a very hard hunt and I would for sure if you can hire a guide. Cary Jellison is the guy you want in that hunt. He seems to pop out B&C bulls out of there almost every year. I have been on 2 Simpson timber ground hunts and Cary was there on them both and produced big every time.(not with me)Most everybody I have talked to that has been on this hunt has either seen 1 bull and they shot it or they hunted there butts off and saw no elk. The good part is of the couple of bulls taken every year ther is always one toad. I have been told by Cary that the last 5 days are always better than the first 5 days. The later in the season it gets the more the rut kicks in and the hunters leave because they filled or they are pissed of about not seeing one single elk. Good Luck!

thanks Aaron for the info for klamath my hunting partner got the alternate tag for that zone also so there will be 2 of us going i think we are to hunt it by ourselvs and not hire a guide i hope we will get at least 1 out of there. how big of bulls are in there 330 class or bigger? thanks again

That would be great if 2 of you had the tag on the same year. I am telling you this is not a hunt to get stuck on score of a bull. Yes almost every year some one pulls out 1 320 to 340 class but if you want to get a bull on the hunt I would sugest shooting the first decent bull you see even more so if you have 2 tags. If you are willing to spend the whole season there and dont get mad because you went 4 days without seeing a elk that was even in a spot that you could shoot your chances will go way up. The bull the kid in town got last year on this hunt was a monster. It was like a 9x7? and should of scored around 350. But again he said it was the only bull he saw and they hunted the whole season. I saw a video of a bull in Klamath that would for sure be in the 370 to380 range but he was in the park. From what I have been told you want to push that park line as close as you can. Dont shoot one over the line because they catch someone about every other year doing just that. There are a few elk away from the park line but they are tough to find and the only way you will have any luck is to get them talking to you.
