I drew a any bull tag in units 340 and 342 here in Washington. This is a muzzleloader rut hunt. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experiance in these units and would be willing to help me out ?

You drew a really good area. The only advice I would give is to be prepared for the general season muzzleloader hunters to screw with the elk starting about Wednesday(it opens on the 7th, Saturday). Most of the time I would say to hold out but I have seen it backfire up in the Clockum. Take a decent bull in the first three days or you might not get another chance. Good luck. PM me if you need more help.

Hey guys. I've got the Observatory archery tag in September. I've never been up there in September, so really have no idea what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm also happy to report back on what I see up there during scouting and my hunt. I'll only be hunting the first weekend(Sept. 8-10), as I'm headed for a hunt in New Mexico the following weekend.

A good buddy of mine drew it a couple of years ago for rifle and shot a real nice six by. He did see a lot of decent bulls and that was after the rut was done.

I would spend time scouting the weekend before your hunt in that unit. For the september archery hunt same thing, the bulls were singing early and late during the day. head up towards quartz mountain, you shouldn't have a problem findin critters.
