Does anyone have any information for the resident herd on the Maylay Gap Section?

What little bit i know about Malay Gap. I have never hunted it but from what i here and speaking to someone that has spent some time there and speaking to some of the guides. Archery is hit or miss could go a week with out seeing a bull or be in a herd with a 370 bull. It all is dependant on the weather. If it is cold Rifle is supposed be pretty good.

There is a regular here and on www.coueswhitetail.com named apache7mm (Dan Juan) who lives up there and can fill you in with up to date info on the animals. His family guides there......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

We hunted there in January and as the first post implies, you may go for several days without getting into elk, then you may have an opportunity at a 350 or better. Great elk are there, but I would advise getting a good guide. The guide I used was Gabriel Jackson - hard worker who loved to hunt. He took a 360 off of Malay Gap in '04. We hunted there as well as another area and took a 320 class bull. If I can help more let me know, I will be glad to give contact info for Gabriel.
