Any of you that live near unit 8 how is the water and moisture situation for this coming archery elk hunt?good,bad or just plain lousy?

I was out that way yesterday headed towrard my hunt unit and we decided to take the some of the roads through 8 and by the looks of things the unit is doing alright on water. Wish I could say the same Unit 10. Hope this helps.

I was in that unit a few years back and it was dry as dry can get. Anything has to be better than that.
There are tons of waterholes but TONS of folks with stands on them. I bet you $100 you can't find a hole in that unit without a stand right now. 3 stands was the least number I found on any water the year I was there.
If the unit is green I wouldn't hunt water...too many other options

No I did not draw but a hunting partner did so I will be going with him and helping him out this year.This is the first year we decided to go into the draw single and well I now have 9 points and he is hunting go figure.Maybe I can learn the unit a little and get lucky and draw a permit within the next 5 years.
Thanks everyone for letting me know how the water and feed is so far.Wont be long and we will be down that way scouting a little.I have heard it is tough to get your own water hole to sit so maybe it will stay green enough to do some calling besides sitting water.

This past week 8 has been POUNDED with rain and I'd guess that water isn't going to be an issue up there. A friend of mine was up in 10 and said it nearly got washed away from a storm that brought around 4" of rain. He said Big Chino wash was running so that means he'd be right.
