Idaho Access Yes! lands/Boise River/Wieser Units

We didn't draw a control hunt tag and are trying to figure out what to do. I'm looking at either the Boise River area or Weiser area. Am I heading the right direction? Also, I noticed Idaho has a program to enter private ground. Is this typically a good thing or hit and miss? We are looking at Elk but might do deer or both.

Well unless I'm missing something, the Weiser area is permit only elk hunting and the upper ends of the Boise River (north, middle and south forks) are all public land so you don't need to worry about access anyways.

The Weiser Zone does have over the counter tags. Check page 43 of the big game regs.
Access Yes poperties are selected because they have animals to hunt. Some are selected for upland hunting instead of big game hunting.
