Any give me any ideas on where to go in south east Idaho? shot a small rag horn near soda springs last years..just south of Caribu National Forrest. Looking for more elk and larger for archer next week..any Ideas?

It is very hard to get away from other hunters. Archery hunters are everywhere. Elk are often bugle shy from so many people in the field calling. Don't call too much. Find areas away from roads. More rugged areas generally hold the better bulls. The DWR manages the unit for 3 yr old bulls I believe. I have hunted it for many years. I quit archery afew years ago because of the number of hunters. My cousin has a early rifle tag and we will be scouting it in a couple weeks. If you got your elk last year, you already did well. Get away from the roads and easily accessed areas. Knock on doors prior to season to get on some private ranches. Don't shoot the first raghorn you see.
