Unit 34 New Mexico Archery Elk

Has anyone been down on the unit lately? How are the roads? I will be down there from Setember 5th-September 22nd and I will be coming alone because my buddy couldn't make it and I had to sell his tag. I could sure use someone to hunt with and I would definitely like to call for someone. I am very familiar with the unit because I hunted it last year. Send me a PM or email me at [email protected].

I just got back and it is very wet. However the main roads are in fairley decent shape, the two track side roads are a differant story. If it doesn't start drying up you might need a 4-wealer to get down some of the roads. I heard a couple of bulls bugle 2 nights ago so the rut is starting but it isn't going hot and heavy yet. Good luck
