Backpacking elk hunt

What tent are the backpacking elk hunters using? Do you use a 2 person tent for one person? I am archery hunting so a 3+ season tent would be ok...

I use a shaped silnylon tarp when light and trying to find them. Once I find them and if we have a few folks I grab the 6 man kifaru tipi. Find no need for anything any fancier.

Hex Go Lite 3 may be a future addition to 2 man hunts/scouting

I am using a Eureka Solatire 1-man tent, more like a bivy. Ditched the pegs that came with it and replaced them with MSR light weight aluminum pegs and it comes in just above 2 lbs. My brother is using a 2-man Eureka Zeus as he likes to put his pack in his tent. We hunt together but don't sleep togehter. Eureka tents are hard to beat and they have a unmatched warranty, should you need it. Also, have a Eureka Timberlite XT 3-person, which is an awesome tent, but a bit heavy at about 7 lbs or so pack weight. Use this if I am camping from a vehicle, but I am mobile these days and camp where night fall finds me.

We use the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 2 Tent. Min weight is just under 3 lbs and 2 medium size people can sleep comfortably. they also make a one man. I'm taking it up this friday morning...

I've used a Sierra Designs flash light for 18 years and have always been happy with it.

I just bought the Big Agnes Seedhouse one sl(super light). 2lb 14oz. Awsome one man tent. It has a vestabule for your gear!!! Good Luck
