I called in a spike and a cow to 4 yards yesterday, and then I realized the trail he was following was the one I was standing next to, and being on a tight ridge line, I had to scare him off!! I called him when he spooked to stop at 10 yrds, and I simulated a bow shot, I would have had him!! But being alone, and my bow at home needing much work, I was not gonna shoot him anyways!! Just thought I would share my excitement, plus it is way hot, but if it was an evening hunt, he would have been labeled my first bow kill!!
I worked on the bow today, and I am way pleased with the work I put in on it, and am now ready to find that spike now!!
