This is after about three steps! The trail was thirty yards long.

Congrats on your hunt , nice bull !!!Don't leave us hanging though , tell us some of the hunt....

Ok here's the story..
My mom wanted to tag along so I said she had to learn to call, and she did! We fond this bull two days ago but there were two other bulls in the same canyon with him so I passed on chasing him. We went back yesterday only from the opposite direction and had the herd bull coming in but a herd of cattle spooked for some reason and blew him out of the canyon. This guy was off by himself and still bugling so we went straight at him as fast as we could go. He just kept going up the canyon so I gave him a thorough chewin' out with my hyper-lip. That really got him excited. We kept going straight to him about another 100 yards or so and he bugled, I felt the air vibrate with this one so I set mom in some trees and moved forward about 50 yards and knelt down. I gave two mews and shut up. I saw him in about three minutes at 80 yards coming straight in. When he went behind a tree I drew my outback... Too soon! Thank God for 80% let-off! He stayed behind that tree for what seemed like forever. When he came out he was 30 yards and still coming in, but I figured why wait? I put my pin just right of center of his chest and touched it off. My first thought was Oh No! I didn't get any penetration, but what I was seeing was the blood pouring out of his chest. He was going down the hill and I cow called and he stopped. He stood for about ten seconds and his next step failed him, he went down right there. We saw it all. The celebration was incredible! I know that he is not the biggest bull in the forest but the experience of having mom there makes him the best thing I have ever done! Share your experiences if someone wants to go. You won't regret it.
BTW... the arrow entered just left of the shoulder and tried to exit just in front of his opposite hind quarter, the skin stopped it. This shot works and I think I know why. It is hard to get to all the arteries above the heart on broadside because the shoulder is in the way but quartering to and facing all there is is the brisket. Any thoughts?

Nice job It pretty cool that your mom was your caller too. I tip my hat to both of ya.
