Well, it's a long shot, but my buddy who uses this site said to give it a try to see if anyone will help me out with some info on the early October bull hunt. My dad has not had an elk tag in a very long time and I don't know how many more chances he'll get, so I'm asking for any help on the hunt. My buddy gave me a spot to try but has not seen anything big. We would really like to find a good bull. If anyone wants to send a private message with any helpful hints, I would really appreciate it. If not, save your sarcasim for anothe post please. Thahks everyone, regardless, this will be a special hunt for me.

Are you going to have time to scout? I've got a couple places you can try but it would be better to scout them out first. Or you can go to the most popular places such as Skinner ridge, peterson flats, and red butte. However, these areas usually get hit pretty hard.

It's a huge deal for me to do all I can to fill my dad's dreams so I am going to find a way to get up there a couple times before the hunt.

Try along the reservation border from Willows Camp, south to Lockwood Canyon.
Also, anywhere from Lockwood to Upper Lockwood going west towards the unit 7 border are all good.
Not too many people will be in this area.
Also, there has been a sighting of a big bull around the Red Horse Tank area.
Good luck and need any more info, please ask.
