Wow, you guys are all over this already! I wanted to shave and say hello to my wife and the kids before I worried about MM.

Anyway, I am happy with the outcome. We got him Saturday night. The elk are not rutting very well and did not hear one bugle since Thursday. I met my goal of 350+ and had a good time.

Thanks for all of the nice comments. I asked MOUNTAIN_HUNTER to please post my pictures. I can shoot stinky elk but cannot post photos. SaddleSore, WARBIRDUM, Antler1, antlerrick, and JRBCo all deserve a big thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!

I'm saying it's much more than a 350+ bull. I'm thinking the bull is a B&C typical (375+). Way to go!! Congrats on finding such a beautiful bull.

Thanks guys! Getting approval here sometimes can be tough business and I think you guys like him like I do. No regrets. Not one! It was worth the wait to me and I hope you guys in line get your chance cuz it is fun. I thought the other day the hunt only lasted one day, but it lasted 25 years! It was every day for the last 18 months planning and having everything just so. When I got rejected in 05 I knew it was game on the following year!

c3 and ww, thanks for the nice words after all we have been through! We have argued tooth and nail over stuff but in the end you guys say congrats. Thanks a bunch!

bess is right, mrs. ktc gets to show me up next year maybe. I hope she does!

So after all your hours, days, weeks, months, etc of bullet contemplation...what did you use and how did it perform?

I want pictures of the bullets.....come on! Maybe they penetrated 100% like usual and there are not any?

Thought i would jump on and tell you again what an awesome bull you got. I read most of the posts about your pending hunt but never figured I would run into you somewhere.

I am the redhead that showed up at the taxidermist Sunday when you were dropping him off (you picked a good taxi, your bull will look great mounted). I had no idea you were "KTC" from MM when i was talking to you, but then i saw these pictures on here. I must say that the pictures make him look big, but he looks even better in person. I would be thrilled with one like him when I get my one chance in the next 1-10 years.

I did not see any redhead but the taxi? Where you the guy with the killer deer? Like 2 of them soon to be 3 or 4? You are right, I think I got the best taxi I have seen. Thanks for the compliments and mentioning that about the photos. Your chance is coming and hopefully you can get the bull you want on your wall.

Thanks again and I will be looking on the wall for some more big bucks. This nut guy is a deer killing machine!

I almost forgot about you!;-)

I loaded up some Sciroccos and Scirocco II's by having my head in my butt. I hit him all 3 shots and Matt was begging for a fourth, but I was out of bullets for a minute before he crashed. He had no signs of being hit any one of those times except he headed downhill after the second one. So he could have been hit all by Sciroccos or the II's or a combination.

Matt quartered him gutless style so I did not see what vitals were hit or any internal damage. I found no slugs either. I think one or two were pass throughs. We were fighting darkness and wanted to get my four legged chute plane out of the cliffs and rocks before it fell dark. To be honest he was dead so I figured the bullets worked and did not even think to examine the performance.

You are right about Matt. No way could I pull this off anymore without his help. He gets worked to death but seems ok with it.

Yep that was me...I don't know about "killer deer" but i definately don't regret killing him. It has been a crazy year already...hopefully I can get another nice buck in UT or CO.

KTC that is a great looking bull, Hope you post the mount when it done, Now if you can get ole Bobcat to draw a tag next year, got any luck left you might want to pass it over to him.
 
Thanks guys. I will definitely post the mount. I have been asked how I am doing him, but I am not sure yet. I will consider wall mounts I like and am pondering a pedestal. I have an amazing taxidermist. He did my brother's bull and Browtines buck. They both look absolutely great.

I can not worry about bess next year. mrs. ktc has a bull to get! I hope he draws though.

All I can say is what an absolute "HOG". A bull like that only comes around once in a few hundred elk-hunter's lifetimes.

With regards to your 350"+ statement...your bull is only exceeded by your modesty.

It took 25 years and max points. Worth every minute of wait though. I killed tons of spikes, raghorns, and cows in the meantime.

No big bulls up here in MT for sure. Too many GI Joes on ATVs throwing lead at the 2 1/2 yr olds. Dont waste your gas $ coming to Mt to look for a big bull, go south young man, go south.
