That will be one of the best bulls from Oregon in years, or ever for that matter.

If you mean will 380" be a high end bull for Oregon, yes it will. even a 380 gross bull in Oregon is super duper fantastic, a look at the record book will show Oregon only has about 15 bulls over 380 ( net) for typical and non typical combined.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-06 AT 01:52AM (MST)[p]That bull is a monster that unit has a few bulls that will score that high. He is a nice one to bad the tag takes so long to get. Someday if I ever draw that tag I know of a group of bulls that hang together and 2 of them are in the class of this bull the rest are 300 type bulls. And nobody hunts them so they get bigger every year. I talk to a guy who had the Mt. emily tag and a biologist told him that the new state record is in the Mt. emily unit. There are some big dudes in the limited units. Congrats to the guy who got him, once in a lifetime. I thought there was a 389 bull killed in the eagle caps last year by Mark moncrief

That's less than once in a lifetime, If you don't have max or one less, you'll never get that tag.

Fantastic bull, great job.

there's always the 25% of the tags that go to the random draw....or 3-4 tags per year.

I think that makes it better odds to draw a sheep tag in Oregon than it does that elk tag!

BTW....there are some other units that hold 350+ elk in Oregon, just not as well known, heck, there's even been a few Rosies lately over 350.

I live in NE Oregon, and I have been up in these parts of the Wenaha, and there are some H-O-G-S!!! Nice pics and story!! They are going crazy up there right now!!

Was in the Wenaha area last night, and the drive out in the dark let me see a perfect 7X7!! He was with almost 20 cows and screaming, I turned out the lights and he ran down the road!! He would have at least went 340-350!!

That bull that mark got was a few years ago. and it was not in the eagle caps but was close to them. I think that his brother told me the bull was in the mid 390's. great bull none the less

is this the bull of which you speack or is there another?..
