Well its a started and is going strong .I killed my cow yesterday morning at about 6:40 in the morning,but will tell the story once Vinihunt posts the picks. My hunt was in unit 6C .This morning as I was dropping off the meat at my cutters shop , another hunter from Washington was bringing in a bull from Mount Taylor, unit 9 and another local hunter was dropping off a Pecos bull unit 44/45. The unit 9 bull was BIG, and was gross scored at 352 and the Pecos bull was pretty nice 6x6 about 290-300, big enough in my mind. Well both hunters said Sunday morning was elk magic as the mountains were lit up with bugling bulls, as was the case for my hunt.For the guys hitting the hills for the second season hunts and the later part of the Sept long elk hunts, the rut is Strong !Hope to see some successful elk pics soon.....NMHUNTNUTT
