Anyone ever do a drop camp with these guys? a drop camp with 2 horses for 600 PP, sounds like a good deal. www.sombrero.com

What unit?

The guys I hunt with rent horses from them every year. some are great horses and some are nags. Had one in 01 I tried to buy from them. Fricking full draft horse that repeatedly packed out entire quartered elk and drug out a worthless gelding behind him @ the same time.

I think They are so large, they'll put you in an area away from people but the hired hands I've personally dealt with are basically mexicans working for them and their main gig is to rent horses. Don't seem to know our area very well but they do see the full meat poles and the empty ones cause they are there during every season. I'd talk to them alot and really feel them out.

Ive since found out that the 2 horses dont stay at the drop camp with you. They take them out after they drop you off, I thought 600 bucks was real cheap for a drop camp plus horses, we'll probably just rely on good out fashioned shoe leather to get back in and back out.
