Cow elk hunt for the kid

Looking for a little help from the WY guys or others familiar with WY hunting areas. I am hoping to find a place to bring the kid out for a reduced price cow hunt in WY. We are coming from Nebraska. I have never hunted in WY, only CO. We just returned from an unsuccessful elk hunt in CO with muzzleloaders. It is gonna be a long winter without any elk meat in the freezer. I see there are some Unit 5 tags remaining but am not sure if there is much for public lands in that unit. Can anyone tell me if there is much for public lands in this area or can someone recommend other reduced price units where we could stand a reasonable chance to harvest a cow elk for the freezer? We are experienced hunters, and somewhat experienced elk hunters. We will wall tent camp and hike all day for the chance at harvesting an elk. Thanks in advance.

Buttwacker,
I live not to far from area five. You will probably not find anywhere to hunt, it is 95% private. PM me and I will give you a number to call of a rancher that just might let you on. No guarantees however.

Non-res cow tag? Public land? Its Sept. 21? Decent numbers of elk running around? That's an easy one--area 34--might be a few tags left.
