Lets get right dopwn to the dirt of the subject. Truth be known, there were only 80 elk on the unit. This is a huge place, with lots of room to roam. We have been over ran with archery hunters and smoke pole hunters for the last month and a half. I knew there were 3 bulls by the state line. Well, all three fell over during the youth hunt. If you ask people that have been hunting if they have seen any elk, they will laugh and tell you they were lucky to see anything besides a whole hillside of camo walking around. Trully, your odds of killing an elk on this unit will be more along the lines of 1 in 500 to 1000. I have lived in the unit most of my life, and I have seen 4 elk in over 30 years. That is a lot of area being covered where they are supposed to be. Will someone get one? Yes, but odds are not in your favor.
