I hope they can keep it that way for us guys that wont get a tag for 5-70 years.....If it keeps up at this rate, I can kill a 678" Bull in 10 years??

212!?!??! Wow sounds like a real MONSTER! :)

Just kidding BT, it has been an AWESOME past couple of years for elk in Utah....especially this year. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out this year after all the hunts are over. I still think that anywhere but Utah is the best place to hunt elk....so EVERYONE should apply outside of Utah for a while! :)

HEY TUFF BUFF!!!

HE MENTIONED A PISSCUTTER (212) JUST FOR YOU!!!

THATS ONE THING ABOUT BROW,HE DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE ANYBODY MAD!!!

THE ONLY bobcat GLAD TO KNOW THERE WAS A 212 TAKEN,I HADN'T HEARD ABOUT THAT BULL TILL NOW,LOL!!!

Utah is the up and coming Big anything state.Arizona will continue to produce huge bulls, but with the drought we are plagued with no animals are making to there potential. It seems every year Utah is producing more and more 400" bulls. With the ocasional wet year Arizona will continue to keep the top of the books.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-02-06 AT 02:16PM (MST)[p]not so much a competition as it is management for BIG bulls. Its like reading the BC score sheets for places where big bucks/bulls are killed. You ever here the adds for muley crazy magazine? "find out where people are killing the biggest deer". This would be very valuable for you if you were applying for these units and it helped you find out which state/unit is producing the biggest bucks/bulls. This post should serve as a reference, that a "competition". Not sure exactly why you would respond like that however, I think you missed the point.

Fine by me. Let more and more people put in for Utah and loose interest in AZ. In fact I'll say it myself. Everyone needs to stop putting in for AZ and concentrate on Utah. The out of state prices are going way up, and besides you aren't going to kill a big bull.

Maybe I'll be able to draw again :7

From what I've been hearing AZ is going to give Utah one heck of a run this year. The archery hunters down in Arizona are taking some monsters, and I can only imagine what the early rifle hunts will produce!

Doesn't look like the dry summer did much damage at all to AZ elk.

Browtine, what do you know about the 400" bull from the Wasatch???

Thats alot of bone! Eveybody has known Utah was challenging to be top dog for mammoth bulls. With that said, this news will be featured in Eastmans, Trophy Hunter and Hunting Illustrated etc...And so then eveybody will start to take a serious look at Utahs elk hunts, but I don't think it'll cause people to choose UT over AZ, atleast not those persons who have been trying to draw in AZ....I can only put in for so much and after the in state draws I realisticly can do 1 maybe two out of state draws , so I'll keep trying for an AZ elk tag and a WY mule deer tag...or maybe its time to look into UT EH LOL...
