Missouri Breaks elk report?

Hows the elk hunting been over there this year? I have a either sex rifle permit for 417 this year and was just wondering how everyone hunting over there this year has been fairing.

Herd that antler growth was good this year over there. Check fire maps as the areas that burned this summer may effect some populations movements. Good luck.

If you can wade through all the cow hunters and find some access to private or get far enough off the beaten path you should find a decent bull.

I spent a fair amount of time in 417 in archery season....You will do fine. Had 3 good shooter bulls inside 40 yards just couldn't quite close the deal. Had a 350+ bull at 35 yards with a cow standing right in my only shooting lane as he walked through.

Thanks for the info guys, I can use all the info on that area I can get. I had planned on spending two weeks straight hunting for a big bull, but now due to a new job Ill only be able to spend 3 days at a time.
