I don't know, I haven't heard about much from people and other hunting forums. Seems like AZ had a down yr this yr compared to what we're used to. We still have the rifle hunts to go so we'll see what comes out of that.

Well in our spots the bulls were down at least 30 inches from last year. Two first timers shot bulls one around 320 and one 295,great bulls for first time archery hunters. The best bull we saw was around 370 and the next was around 350.The first wekkend was great and then it got kinda of quite and they quit early. In the eveing you had to be in or close to the beds to get much action.Sat a couple water holes in the eveing and had one good bull come in from the far side of the tank.Had three bulls with cows come in one night and not one peep out of any of them?It was a far cry from last year when we had bulls running us down most every day.It was still way more fun than being at the house or work.See ya Mav

Lack of winter rains!!!

As the above was stated most big bulls were down 20-30 to even 40 inches from last year & it was a tuff hunt this year to kill a 360 bull let alone a 380. Besides the lack of winter rain, the Game & Fish has hammered the permits into a few selected units in order to reduce populations & it seems to be working (atleast for now). Give Arizona about ten more years & you will be calling us the second coming of Colorado.

I had a pretty good time this year but when you are hunting for something in the 380 range, on a drought year, you know the odds are stacked against you!

Thanks guys.

As a non-resident with 10 points, my turn should be here soon, just hope its in a year where the conditions are right. I am torn on whether to go unit 9 or 10 at this point. Guess I can't go wrong with either one.

I hear to actually have a bow in hand during the rut is a pretty awsome time.

These have been some long years waiting..........I am not alone though..........

Keep the stories coming......

I would stay out of units 9 and 10. They are too hyped up and there are just as big of bulls in other "lesser" units. Try 5A or B, 6A or B, 1, 3, 7E and W, and a few others in the white mtns and you will draw a tag sooner than waiting for units 9 or 10!!! Good luck

Well sremi I wouldnt go that far! I hunted unit 5 this year and a big bull in there is a 340 bull not bad but theres not many pigs to be had.... Lots of 300 bull and thats it; If your willing to wait 9, 10, 1, 8, are worth it

Thanks Pigbull-

I was born in a barn, just not yesterday is all.............

I will likely stick to the units I know, can scout reasonably, and have had friends be successful in. 9-10-8-7-1-........

Thanks for input
