Any general elk sucsess yet

My family had 3 down before 8 am yesterday morning. One was a nice 6 point. There are several other hunters in their camp and I'm pretty sure they'll all tag out. They are hunting someone's private land, but it's private land surrounded by public land, so I'm sure there are plenty of bulls to go around up there.

I was up hiking yesterday-sunday and the fog had rolled in early like first lite.... some guys had pulled off onto a ridge in their trucks and the elk where below them under the fog belt.
Kinda funny for me to be just hiking and the elk staring at me while the hunters sat in the truck with coffee---? instead of being out and about.....
Going back up this morning just to see if the elk are still in that pocket.... good day for another hike anyways. Maybe take the 20gauge and shoot a few birds... lots of them this year.

Robb if the Elk are still there is there Bulls in with them? Let me know and if therer still therer I will go get a tag. I should have went, My buddy got into a bunch saturday and had 3 bulls with in 100 yards him while he was pushing for his neighbor and he didnt pay attention and had all three run right by him while he was dinking around.

Boy i'd love to know where you guy's are seeing all these elk I've gone out scouting alot for the any bull muzz tag, and have yet to see a elk. Wish i wouldn't have wasted my money on a any bull tag, and just got a spike only.

We taged out monday by 10am with 2 spikes and a 5x5 and got a message today that my cousin got a 6x6 today one canyon over he was with 4 other bulls.good luck

Sorry 'muzz' I've been on Jury Duty and didn't see your post...
I went back up on Monday to hike and didn't take the shotgun for some birds.... thought better to do a little brushing for the truck ridgerunners.... ha
Still had that mist, not so much a fog on monday morning....
A 3x4 bull and 2 cows is all I bumped into.... never heard a shot.... I thought I did but it was a truck door slamming....
It is all good...

If the snow hits, they most probably will be down low on private.... we could take a look see or I can for sure keep an eye on the area with my hikes.....

Chad, I just got back from a hike up there and I SWEAR those elk where bugling!!! I swear! couldn't believe it! Not a single hunter around....

But I better get off the computer and get the vacuuming done before the 'Warden' gets home from shooting her '06 for her deer tag! haha

We had three elk tags this year. While muzzleloader hunting this year I found an new area full of elk. We rode in 6 1/2 miles and lucked out. My friend and I had are two down by 10:30am opening morning. My bro rode back in on Wednesday and downed his. We are three for three this year. Not bad seeing the past two years skunked us with no elk found (just cows).
