We hunted Potters Pond, Miller Flat road on up to Skyline Drive the first 2 days of the General Elk hunt and didn't see hardly anything. We hiked hard the second day getting into the remote canyons and pockets. Where have they all gone to?? Everyone we talked to said about the same......they're no where to be found. Anyone hunt down there that had different luck that would want to help me out for next weekend's hunt?

The local CO says that all of the 400" bulls down there have been eating all of the spikes and buck deer. They don't grow that big by eating grass alone! :)

Serously though I don't have a clue. Likely in the nastiest crappiest stuff on the mountain-steep, deep, and thick-it's general season time in Utah!

Good luck!

I'm just glad there will be a few left for me and my muzzleloader!

I haven't seen many in the backs of trucks either.

I saw 3 spikes taken opening day in the Any Bull unit we hunt. There was also a nice 6x taken that I didn't get to see, but heard about (~310/~320 bull). Saw plenty of action on opening morning, but man did the pressure clear the country of anything in a hurry!

I'm with Prism and bettin their down in the nasty of nasties ;)
Round two for me starts this weekend. I was out Thurs to Sun, but can't take the full week like I normally do, due to the new job - man I need to fill the freezer!

WELL!!!

IF YOU WERE HUNTED/PRESSURED LIKE THESE ELK YOU'D BE DOWN IN THE NASTIES TOO!!!

THEM MEDIUM SIZED BULLS JUST WALTZING AROUND LIKE LOOK AT ME BOYS,YOU CAN'T SHOOT ME!!!

WHEN YOU GET A POOR SPIKE CROP IT SHOWS UP ON THE BIG STINKY BULL CROP 4+ YEARS LATER!!!

HOPEFULLY THEY'RE STILL AROUND & NOT BEING FOUND!!!

ALOT OF HUNTERS CUSSING BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND A SPIKE!!!

TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE GAME HERDS HAVE BEEN PRESSURED SINCE MID-AUGUST,NOW THEY'RE HIDEING FROM THEIR NEXT BULLET!!!

THE ONLY bobcat SAYING GOOD LUCK,HUNT HARD & HUNT LONG!!!

I saw five spikes taken opening day and heard of two others being taken. Heard a lot of shooting unfortunantly it wasn't by me. I did see two really big bulls shot on an any bull unit that where huge.

I had 15 spike bulls located this summer well here are the results for my time on the mountain.

As spotted. 3 spikes here. biggest spike is in second picture.
What fun is it if you don't have a picture of em first?

I don't know about everywhere else but in AZ all the spikes didn't grow horns because of the drought. The drought affects the spikes as well as the big bulls.

Due to the drought here in AZ the spikes didnt even grow spikes this year.

AZG&F is the downfall of hunting in Arizona!!!!!
