One last try for an update before heading out this week to Reserve. Anyone know how wet it has been around there and have the Elk been very active. Hoping there might still be a little bugling going on. Thanks

hey i just got back from 15 and it was raining a lot, and it was also pretty brisk the elk where still talkin though but make sure you bring a shovel and some chains unless it dries out some of those roads where pretty nasty

Leaving today from Michigan for 16A. Been hearing about bad road conditions from the rain for weeks. I would like to know if they are still talking. Hope Grizlyhunter and I score a couple nice bulls.

Back from 16E. This unit was not what I expected. 50% of unit is open prairie. Hunted all day for 5 days and never saw a bull that would score over 260. Saw elk every day but no shooters. If this is a quality unit I would hate to see a regular unit. Out of 13 muzzleloaders in camp hunting in 15 and 16E no bulls shot that would even make 240. NM needs to lower the amount of tags in this unit so the Elk can get some age on them. Anyone else hunt this unit during archey or ML?

Oldshed,

Their antler growth is real strong for the first half of their racks but the spring drought has them kinda stunted from the G-4's and back...at least from what we saw (and shot).
