Need Help and Fast

Well it looks like my plans have changed. I was planning on hunitng up around Salmon, Idaho but it doesnt look like my buddy will be able to get off work. Man am I bummed or what. I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction. I live here in Boise and will only be able make it a couple of hours out of town when I hunt. I have only hunted elk up north and dont know what its like around this area. I know there is a late season in unit 39 but I cant wait that long. So if anyone wouldnt mind giving any info and I mean anything I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Guys!

what unit is your tag for? can you transfer it? i know an area within an hour of Boise with lots of elk.
