Nice job.
Just got to ask though. Were you hauling the elk out on your back just before the first picture. Looks like blood all over your back, either that or you realy get into the gutting process. LOL

YEah already hauled out both hind legs. My son was with me the whole time back and forth...he is only 4 yrs old will turn 5 yr old in Jan.07!!

This is an elk we got on Sunday morning about 7:30 am and it was a 2yr old cow. Good eating!! Also, JP helped with gutting it as you can see...he was not scared! One thing that I know is that is HE IS HOOKED on hunting!! I have a partner now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YeeaaaHaaaaa!!

As we were walking we spotted a herd of elk comming out of the timber going to their bedding area. I picked the smallest cow and made sure that JP was looking right at her and he Kept telling me "shoot, Dad......Shoot Dad!!" So I shot and she ran up the mountain a little and was hurt pretty bad. We were able to watched her fall the down the mountain and expire right in front of us! JP was stoked and he went over there and was just staring at her and then turned and said "Dad we finally got one!!" SWEET! JP knows the process of prayer and asked for cornmeal to pray to her.....My boy is special!! We prayed and started with the knives. I packed out the whole thing and JP was right there with me!! Thank you JP!! We did it in rain and snow...it could not have been more perfect!!

Alright! Way to go....... Did your son use his excellent calling techniques to get you a shot? I bet he can't wait till he can drop one himself. Good going, congrats to both of you!!! Now get after that 7x7!!!!!!

Way to go that going to be some fine eating for sure, JP you and your dad are welcome to come to our camp anytime. Great pictures and hunt. Your right you got yourself a hunting partner.

AWESOME!!! now you and your boy have fond memories for life. Looks like some dense woods there, prime elk habitat. Again, congratz to you both on a fine elk

Lionking , congrats on a great hunt ! Loved the pics, glad to see JP right there along side. My little one is the same way, she loves to go out and be with me and my dad, she keeps reminding me that next year if we can draw antelope hunts that I promised her she could go.Your cow will get great at the table, weve already ate close to 10-11 lbs from mine....Again congrats, your pics took me right back as you and I share time in the same mountain....Larry
