Pine Valley open bull

LAST EDITED ON Oct-13-06 AT 04:18PM (MST)[p]I have heard of one archery bull 5 by 5. 1 5 by 4 with a gun. A handicaped guy with one leg shot a 408 bull during the youth hunt. Hammer has pictures of it and his friends have picked up the sheds for the last few years.I guess its no secret anymore.
I haven't heard of any others latley. Cody call me and I can tell you where the big bull was shot. Hammer said its a real pig.

What is the truth? There are NO huntable elk herds on the Pine Valley Open Bull unit. There are also no huntable elk herds on the Zion, Henry Mountain, San Rafael North, Nine Mile Range Creek, or any other Utah "Open Bull" units. There are very few animals and due to land owner complaints, the DWR doesn't want a herd to get established so they are allowing what few animals there are to be hunted to extinction. Anyone who bought an Open bull Elk tag in Utah is a fool that has fallen into the DWR's trap. They get to sell a whole bunch of tags and there is little or no harm to the resource.
