Here's some elk pics from the last couple of weeks. I'm kind of getting burned out on elk. It's time to start hunting deer!:)

The bull with the younger hunter, Matt, was a hunt donated to "Hunt of a Lifetime" by an outfitter friend of mine near Wanship. It was one of the most rewarding hunts of my lifetime.

Here's a couple of bulls from last week in New Mexico. It was wet, thick, and a STEEP MOTHA! Utah's Wasatch front doesn't have a thing on this country!;)

And finally my buddies dad's bull taken yesterday.

I'm staring to wonder if Vol. 3 will have more elk than deer. I HOPE NOT:)

I second what Andyman said!

Paul,

Congrats on your NM hunt. Good looking bulls. Can't wait to see the hunts.

Hopefully we can add two more elk to the count in the coming month.

great job that looks like one happy boy!
i envy you guides i guided my dad and brother to some bulls this year. its the first time my dad ever hunted with a bow and it was more rewording than if i would have stuck that bull myself.
i bought a new bow and tought my dad to shoot it then the first shot he ever took at a animal was a 50 yrd 12 ring shot. the bull didn't make it 40 yards. my brother got his at 40 yards at the same time. two bulls answered my calls and we took them both home with us.it was my bro's first bowkill too.
then to top it off my son took a nice 150" muley for his first bowkill buck. he has taken several does with the bow and several nice bucks with a rifle.
my son has jessy up the mountan right now trying to fill her elk with a rifle. she didn't get off work tell 4:00 so they only had 2 1/2 hours to do it in but they are 1 hour late getting back so he may have got er done.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-06 AT 08:05AM (MST)[p] nope, they got stuck i went up at 10:00 and got them. he got high centered on a rock.
we have a rule that if we haven't heard from each other after two hours after dark we will go looking.
the good thing is there are only three roads to go on when we hunt there.
he had walked 6 miles to the nearest house and they pulled him out. when i got up at 10:00 he had just got to the main road.
he didn't do exactly what he was told to do in this case.
he is suppose to walk to cheneys cabin for me to meet him. that would have been a three mile hike.
oh well alls well that ends well.
the funny thing is my dad called at 12:00 four hours befor they left he just had a feeling they were going to get stuck up there. i think he is sycic.{huh i wonder how you spell that}

The joys of getting stuck. Glad it turned out OK. We had a pretty interesting deal a couple of weeks ago moose hunting with a guy in a wheel chair and almost losing the truck off of the road and into the ditch. PACK TIRE CHAINS AT ALL TIMES!!!

Burnded out on Elk? I can't believe that just came out of your mouth. Maybe you should name #3 A Whole Lotta Bull! I recognize the place where the last picture was taken. By the way, when are we deer hunting anyway.

It's always an adventure!!!
