What Are The Odds?

Today I went up to one of my honey holes looking for deer. Well I didnt see any deer but I did run into a bunch of elk and three 5 point bulls. I bumped the first group and wasnt seen by the last and biggest bull. There was alot of sign and tracks around. They were right below the timberline and as long as they dont go up and over the mountain into the timber there is only two main pockets that they could stay in. I am concerned they might get bumped cuz it is the last week of the deer season and its starting to get busy up there. What do you guys thing the odds are for these bulls to stick around until the first on November?

LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-06 AT 10:20AM (MST)[p]I dont know what the odds are, but if there is good feed and they dont get pressure they'll probably stay. Especially if there is lots of pressure elsewhere. That could be why they are there in the first place.

Sounds like you won't be getting any good nights sleep until opening day. I've had areas loaded with sign and plenty of high expectations only to find a major camp set up in the meadow the elk were feeding in. I think you have a good spot though, good luck.

My guess is there is slight chance they'll be there unless you have them located in an area where you think no hunters will touch them until November 1st. Also the weather could drive them out.
