Just wondering how everyone is doing in Oregon, since the first season opened a couple of day ago.

I have seen 2 decent 5 or 6pts along with a couple spikes go through town today ( John Day ). We have 11 bull tags for 2nd season hopefully the 1st season boys will leave a few for our group.

There was a bull killed yesterday that nets 343 south of Jihn Day. Congrats to the lucky lady who harvested it.

My cousin killed his first bull on opening day. A nice 6x6.
My mrs. was sitting next to him when the herd came out (after I went around the bedded herd and pushed them uphill) but she didn't take a shot. She was too busy being amazed at being that close to a herd of elk. (rookie)
Spent the day taking care of the bull and getting him off the hill. A good opener indeed.

went out yesterday afternoon with a buddy of mine, saw some nice bulls, nothing close enough though. Was on the way out, and he shot a nice 6 point, didnt find it until this morning. Kinda funny, because just before he shot it, he said if we see something on the way out, ill shoot it, because he wasnt planning on hunting sunday, then a few minutes later, theres a bull, lol. It was a nice 6 point. Saw a few bulls in peoples rig's on the way back into town also.

sorry I have a policy of not tell people of what units I hunt. I will tell you it was in eastern oregon. I'm pretty secretive its kind of a bad habit I have my wife hates it because some times I will not tell her were I'm going. It is just the way I am.
Bakerboy I will try to post some pictures if I can figure out how. also bakerboy if I get your name right I would say you are from bakercity and if that is the case did you hear about the big 9x7 bull that was shot up bye wolfe creek off of a ranch it is supose to be pretty nice. My mom is going to try and get me a picture of it then I will try and post it.

I havent heard of that one being killed. it was probably off of Chris Heffernens Ranch (probably spelled his last name wrong). there are usually some big bulls on his property. his property also borders the feeding station up there as well. i will ask around though for the picture or if anyone has heard of it. and yes i am from baker city.

beleave it! Capes don't eat very well. What you should have said is "I would never just cut the cape off a bull like that" That way your not speculating your stating a fact. Just funning you guys actually I probably would have caped him but he was is such a hole that I could not justify it for a averge bull. now if it was a 350 bull one of my horses could have died and that cape would still have came out intact.
Bakerboy you were right that bull did come off that ranch and I have pitures of it too. pretty nice bull I will try to scan it tomorrow and post them. Looks like a 340 bull but I could be wrong pitures can be deceiving.

yeah i would love to see the picture. i figured they would kill a big on ethis year. Chris said last winter that he had some toads hanging out on it property. i guess it was only a matter of time until a nice bull was harvested.

Our party went 4 for 6 in the Murderers creek unit. My uncle got a 300" 6, I got a 250" 6, one buddy got a big 5 and another buddy got a raghorn 4 point. My dad missed a bull and my other buddy passed on a couple of small bulls trying to get a good one. No pics for now.

yeah i think it was Justin Meritt. yeah i heard it was a dandy. to post it go to download image, and remember what file you saved it from. after it is uploaded highlight the whole address. the ending of the address should be jpg. copy the that or hold down Ctrl+V then click on your response then click Ctrl+C. then the whole address should be there. the picture wont show up right away until it is actually posted. would love to see the picture.
