I put in for this area and was wondering if anyone knows any outfitters that do a drop camp. I put in with another guy that killed a bull last year there. Thanks for the help.

I don't know of any outfitters that will do a drop camp in 36, in fact I would say that a drop camp is really not needed. I hunted that unit last year and found herds of elk not too far from a road. I would say that it depends on what area of unit 36 you will be hunting. If you are in the White Mountain Wilderness there is only one major road that goes through it. But the whole unit is full of very good trails that run every where. My suggestion is to talk to your outfitter and see what is the most hard to reach area with the least amount of access by roads or trails. If you have no outfitter I would not bother with the extra cost of having one. If you have a Forest Map of that area you can pretty much look and see every road and trail that there is so that you can make your own game plan. What ever the case, good luck on your hunt!

Give Johnny Hughes, Elite outfitters a call 505-257-5379 he should be able to help you out.

Thanks guys for the replies. The guy I put in with killed a 349 net bull there last year without a guide. We were just talking about if we ever get lucky and draw that hunt. We should see about a drop camp just to get us back alittle farther in the wilderness.

Thanks Jared, I'll check elite outfitters out.
