Tim Simonsen took this handsome 8x7 elk in September, 2006 on San Juan Elk Ridge, Utah, while hunting with outfitter Kurt Lewis. He shot the bull at 135 yards with a 210-grain .338 TSX bullet. The gross score was 414 6/8.

2 problems with your story.
1. No big Bulls in Utah, ezpecially the SJ
2. Everybody KNOWS that Barnes Bullets are terrible, just ask some random guy on the internet. ;-)

LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-06 AT 05:09PM (MST)[p]great bull!!!!!!! It is great to see these types of mature bulls being harvested here in Utah.

It was killed on a CWMU adjacent to the San Juan unit, not the San Juan elk ridge unit.

Great bull!

is that an offical score? I've heard three different scores now...doesn't really matter "horse" as we had him named is a BIG one...

We along with a lot of others watched him during the summer...he then went and hid on the CWMU...

here is a pic. from late July...

"Horse" indeed!!!!! Hey some of you guys that know that unit, do the bulls summer on the mountain and then run out on to the farms during the hunt?

Congrats to the hunter.
That is one heck of a huge bull.

That's cool to have pics of him in velvet like that too.
Great post thanks.
