Don't know who the hunter is other than it is Dan, so congrats to you on a great set of pictures and of course nailing the Bull.

These are some great pictures. Looks like a gut shot did you recover the elk?

That's a great series just like HH said.
Congrats to the hunter.
Lucky to have had such a great set up to capture the moment!

Great Pictures. Though it looks like a poor shot to me too. I'd like to see the pics of the recovered animal.

Awesome footage.

The hunter is Dan Bishop, he runs Bishop Taxidermy and Cola Blanca Outfitters. He's a great guy and a great hunter.

This hunt will be on the next "Never Enough Western Big Game" DVD:)

It's awesome!!!

SWINGBOW & PRISM,

Thanks for the update on these great video shots and the final picture that won't cast any doubt on the hunt.

LOOKS LIKE A DOUBLE LUNGER TO ME!
Sweet sequence, just need him laying on the ground dead!!
Thanks for sharing!!

Gut shot??? That's a perfect shot!!! When they're quartering away like that you don't want to be tight on the shoulder, you want to keep the arrow further back and run it towards the off shoulder.

I didn't realize the guts were so close to the lungs? Kinda thought they were back a bit further. Or, I have a crazy thought, maybe it was a great shot and no where near the guts. Ya. I am going with great shot placement. Nice Bull!!!

Not great shot placement, and didn't look to be quartering although you really can't tell. Congrats to the hunter I'd agree that he probably got the liver. The shot was obviously good enough, and it's a beautiful bull and an awsome set of pictures. Thanks for posting them. Anyone who has hunted with a bow has had a shot not go exactly where you want. Too many factors not to. Great Bull & Congrats!
