Did anyone have any sucess for the Nov. 10 - Nov.23 Archery Season in 22n (Arizona)???!!!!!

I got my A_ _ kicked. I saw tons of sign. I saw few elk. Initially, I had scouted out an area that had good sign. I found a tank that was getting hammered. This was 3 weeks prior to the hunt. I decided I would try a ground blind at the tank. A week before the hunt, I went to the tank to set up my blind. The area that was surrounding had been thinned out by a forest crew. There was smoke present from burning down the road. I decided to stick it out regardless of the circumstances. No luck day one. Day two found me in another area that was a few miles down the road from my initial hunt area. I did some glassing and saw some bulls high on the Mogollon rim.The bulls were a long way off, about two miles. I glassed a smaller bull who was about a mile away. I pursued him. He disappeared into the forest. More sign found a chewed up antler. Day three still hunted area with good sign, found a gut pile. Someone got lucky. Next weekend decided to go after big bulls glassed previous weekend. Set out early.First mile was cold. Started encountering a jungle of manzanita, scrub oak and cat claw. Pressed on, determined. Started getting hot. Pressed on. Saw whitetail sign in the brush. Must have been busting them out. The brush became so thick that I became boxed in. I literally couldn 't go astep further. I pondered the situation. Decided to go back. I looked downhill. I didn't realize that I had come so far. Going back through this stuff wasn't an option either. Had to fight over the brush. This stuff was 6 to 8 feet high. Took a catclaw to the lip. Ouch Ouch Ouch. Made it to Highline Trail. Found an easier route back to my truck. Was exhausted. Sat a tank in makeshift blind. Zero. Sorry for babbling. More details if you want them. How was your hunt?

Unfortnately Unsuccesful as well... Day One started with a hike across several canyons where me and my buddy jump a bull what looked to be at least a 5x6... The bull was bedded down on the south Slope of the mountain , by the time we had spotted him he heard us coming and took off in a heartbeat and nowhere to been seen after that!! Day 2,3,4 no signs of any bullls just mainly some cows.. I headed out again on the 16 and 17 with a diifferent buddy of mine. this time we headed back were we previously seen that 5x6, after hiking and stoppin for a couples hours NOTHIN!!! we did manage to find a couple of sheds one 6 pointer and one 5 pointer.... Like you said we seen alot of signs fresh signs of droppings and lots i mean lots of rubs.... As we were heading back to camp my buddy spotted a bull climbing up this canyon about 60 yards above us (couldnt make out how big it was to thick) This bull was about 200 yards from where we had seen that previous bull opening day. I got ready to put a stalk on him towards the general area where he was at, and we circled that canyon, I think he might of teloported to unit 6A-west cuz there was no visual signs of him anywhere.. That was it for my hunt... My buddy he went with me on the first trip went back on Thanksgiving day, again he went back to that same canyon where we seen that 5x6 bull .... Again he ran into a bull not to far from where we had spotted him before, (which we think is the same one we kept on seeing)... he got a good look at him this time but it was still quite thick, he says that, that bull was at least a 6x6 but the bull had spotted him and took off and never to be seen again!!!!
All and all it was a great but TOUGH hunt a liitle more time and maybe just maybe one of us could have harvested a mature bull, Knowing his hideout!!! I like to hear more if you donrt mind sharin??

Okay then.

I went out with my dad Wed. before Thanksgiving. Saw a herd on a hill. Glassed them and saw a spike. Took off after them. Worked my way to the backside of the hill. Climbed the hill.Looked to my dad for some indication of where the elk were. No help. He was enjoying the scenery. I guess. Anyway , I continued on my trek. As I started down the face of the mountain, I saw another hunterat the bottom of the hill. This feller was pursuing the same herd. Apparently there was a larger bull with the herd. I never saw that bull. The other hunter said it was a raghorn, but good enough for him. The hunter also said he had a forty yard shot at the spike which he passed on. Continued to another area when we passed a roadside tank. There was a herd of elk watering at the tank at 10;00 a.m. We were just chatting away and all of a sudden. I took off after them. The area adjacent to the tank is way thick. I could see at least 6 elk initially. But in the excitement, I wasn't able to confirm any bulls. I pursued the elk down into a thick canyon. At one point I was 50 yards from a cow. I could hear sticks breaking and noise of the herd ahead of me. I couldn't see them however. The herd slowly outpaced me deeper into the canyon.Imade it back to the road where my dad wasn't. I started walking in the ground adjacent to the road. There was a downed barbwire fence that I discovered with my ankles.I slammed facefirst into the rocks. My new Matthews slammed into the rocks. Suprisingly I was relatively unscathed. As I dusted myself I noticed a gouge in the rubber armour of my Leica rangefinder. It was strapped around my neck. Piping mad I continued licking my wounds. I inspected my Minox binos, also around my neck. On the objective lens on one side, I had crushed the housing. A large piece of the aluminum broke and the retaining ring bent to a moon shape. Can I say OUCH again. Other than that, it was pretty cool. Would I do it again? You betcha.
