Anybody want to share info on units 44/45 in New Mexico muzz. hunt ELK-3-135. Or anybody that would share info on any other New Mexico hunts, I am a non-resident and have been putting in for New Mexico for a few years I am just trying to do some research this year to better my odds. I would be a non-resident non-guided any info on 44/45 or anything elese would be great.

Thats a real good hunt . 44/45 is mostly wilderness , but has good access right up into the unit through Pecos.I have alot of friends who hunt this unit and have shot some real nice bulls as well. The bulls will definately be rutting then , but with only 140 tags , its getting pretty hard to draw.
Would I put in for it , YES. Do I put in for it , yes I do but the archery hunt.Its also one of NM better mule deer units....
