elk bowhunt otc tags?

what state has OTC tags for non-resident tags and if they are worth hunting there with bow or not? not looking for giant bulls just would like to go on an elk hunt this next fall witha few buddies of mine...

any help would be appreciated like prices of tags and what units are good ones and stuff. thanks

I belive Colorado and Idaho are your only choices for OTC archery.

You can kill 5 bulls a year on over the counter tag CO, UT, OR, WA and 2 in ID.

I believe if you fill your tag with a bow you can buy a second tag for elk if not sold out.

You can buy left over tags in Id after a certain date, even if you draw another tag. The last several years, if you drew a limited entry rifle unit, you could buy the archery tag as a leftover. Scout in the rut with a bow in your hand. Not bad. Especially if your draw unit opens Oct 1. Hunt till Sept 30 with a bow and then start rifle hunting the next day.

Washington is spike only over the counter, but it is still elk hunting. Kind of an expensive camping trip though. Idaho is your best bet.
