Bull hunt for disabled son

My hunting partner has recently suffered a spinal cord injury. While visiting Cabelas this holiday season he said the magic words, "Dad, I can still hunt". I have heard of a couple special tags available for disabled hunters. He is an Arizona resident. I know that New Mexico has some rut hunts for buglin bulls. If you can recommend any tags, hunts, or guides please let me know.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-01-07 AT 05:28PM (MST)[p]Being an AZ resident I know of a guy who mainly does diabled hunts. His business is called ADSO (Arizona Disabled Sportsman Outfitters). He was recently featured on PBS and he is in the process of going nonprofit. He really cares about the client and helping them have a great experience. He also works his butt off helping too. It's not a sit this tankk that we drive you up to and shoot something. I know he has taken a paraplegic in and out of Sycamore Canyon and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it a great experience for the hunter.

I know he is planning on being at the Arizona Disabled Expo at the end of February with a booth. I'll send you some info.

Sorry to hear about your son's injury hookiller. It probably seems devastating but it sounds like your son's still got a pretty good attitude.

I've got a cousin who is paralyzed from the chest down. He hasn't let that stop him from doing much though. He still does what he always did, just in a different way now. He drives everywhere (hand controls and a lift to help him get in and out of the truck), works as a diesel mechanic, and he still hunts as well. He gets a special tag here in Utah and has killed a nice bull elk (yes..a bugling bull in the rut) and usually fills his tag every year deer hunting. He does it all himself, with someone going along to clean the animal out and load it(the best part of the deal for him! lol He doesn't have to mess with that anymore).

He either truck hunts or gets to where he wants to sit and wait in a Rino ATV. He can't ride a horse or a 4-wheeler, so the Rino works out great for him. It's not everyone's ideal hunting scenario, but it works for him and he enjoys life. I hope your son can too.

Good luck to you and your son. Looks like the info Rackem gave you is a great lead.
