Well, 2006 is gone..... I must say I can't complain about my Archery Elk Hunt in Arizona..... Saw a lot of 300 inch class Bulls, but I missed a 22 yard shot on a 320 inch class bull, and to make matters worse I missed again later that same morning at 42 yards at a 280-300 class bull.... Thats archery though... I hope I get another chance next year, and I hope my buddy from Oregon will join me once again !!!!!
Good luck to all, and a happy new year!!!!

I know how you feel Craig! I had a cow at 0 yards, and missed a 300 class bull at 30 yards. Dang branch anyway! Happy New Year to you!

Most of us have been there!! Two years in a row!! I missed a 340ish bull last year at 20 yards and a spike this year at forty. I did connect with my deer though but I know how it feels. Goodluck next year and happy new year!!

How would I feel with a bull at 20 yards? Outstanding, thats how.

Regardless of how it turns out, being really close to elk in September is a big part of what attracts so many of us to archery elk hunting, isn't it?

know just how you feel! I had a bull coming down a hill, 25 yards in front of me, I drew my bow, and he turned faced me and started raking a little tree. He did this for about 5 min. My husband was thinking let up let up. I finally did and of course at that min he turned again. By then I was like a noodle!! I drew but missed. Lucky he jumped went about 30 yards right in front of my husband and he made a great shot!! I must say it was the greatest day I can still feel it when I tell the story. He was a beautiful 5 x 5. didn't get another chance that year but hopefully this next year!!!
Any day in the woods is good Any day near an Elk is fantastic!
