Utah Hunt Survey

Has any one else been contacted by phone survey this year for the deer hunt? They were really getting specific on your hunt area and other details.

Yea, I was contacted with the survey thing too. The problem is with the people actually doing the survey. They want you to be specific, but when you are they have no idea where your talking about. I had the poor kid on the line going in cirles until he just put something down. Before they start asking you questions, they should have you pull out your map. He kept asking me "Is that east of --- or west of --?" Without a map I was just guessing.

I was contacted to. It was hard to explain a 20 mile dirt road to the person. I gave him the names of the nearby peaks and canyons and then he just comes back with the question "Would you consider that east or west of SR**? etc etc" It got pretty funny but I tried my best to give him good information.

I too was contacted and just like the rest of you, I had the guy giving the survey running in circles to figure out where I hunted. Then he proceeded to tell me the name of the herd I was hunting. Well, the herd name has to do with a reservoir that is no where in the general area we hunted. I explained this to him and he said, yea, well that is the name of the herd... OK then! I said that's interesting I knew the DWR likely had heard names and then he told me the herd names were in the proclamation and I should know before hunting, the name of the herd I was hunting! LOL He told me the elk herd names were in the proclamation as well.

It was an interesting conversation to say the least!
