THE FRONT DOOR IS OPEN!!! Give credit where credit is due!! The department rocked it and got it all done early, released just now, 4-12-17 at 10:00 am, they didn't make us wait. Hurry, go check now, it works. Good luck & what did you draw?

I cannot get into the site.!.. to many hunters like myself bogging it down! Single file line please.

Not true about the no email = no draw. I haven't gotten one and I did draw my last choice cow elk.

No dice for my kid's first attempt at deer, which is a bummer.

0/7 for me and 0/2 for the wife. Can't complain though considering what I put in for and how fortunate I've been the last few years.

OK, what the hell??? Only tag I drew was another antelope! 4th goat tag in 5 years...they swapped it for a desert sheep tag last year lol. Somebody really wants me to buy another rifle.

Me and my buddy got rifle in 16E!

NR unguided, 3rd choice!

I am so excited. I have hunted this unit before, and hope to improve on my last bull.

>If you didn't get an email
>yet, you didn't draw anything!!!

Not true, my daughters email for elk was received at 1129 but i already knew she drew it...

Just like christmas morning but I guess the tag gods deemed me bad this year. 2 out of 9. My usual 3rd choice sleeper units deer and elk!

...Unit 34 ES youth elk for my daughter, she also drew ES antelope in October in the NE and to add insult to injury off range Oryx in February!!!

34 2nd archery elk here. The one year my feelings wouldn't have been hurt to not draw. Found out couple weeks back I pulled a NV 231 deer tag too. The schedule is filling up!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-12-17 AT 12:47PM (MST)[p]I mostly struck out, drew unit 6 deer tag which is a surprisingly tough tag to draw. At least I'll get to hunt in NM, in an area I learned to hunt a long time ago.

My son drew Unit 15 muzzleloader ES youth tag in early October, he is stoked, this is his first opportunity to kill a bull! I also drew a late October deer tag so looks like a busy October for us. Good luck to everyone!

I drew 16D 2nd bow
My oldest boy drew 16C youth rifle
Both boys drew antelope doe tags, Barbary sheep tags, and stink pig.

Going to be a fun elk hunt year.

Ostrich eggs for me too! 0/2 for me, my wife 0/7, my niece drew youth deer in unit 45, and my brother drew unit 15 bull. Looks like I'll either be hunting elk in either 16-E,51 or 46 with a bow. My deer choices are 45,43,16 or 38 and of course Mexico for muleys or couse. On the plus side our Ranch got 2 desert big Horn ram tags in Mexico so that is a possibility or I'll just fatten up the college fund for the kids!

I drew for Oryx, Rhodes Canyon, January 19, 20, 21. Was my first choice too! Also, the first time I put in for Oryx.

1st 1-Any Legal Weapon ORX-1-108 | Jan 19-21 | ES | $153.00 successful

I picked up 3rd choice deer with a couple friends, not a great unit for deer but it should be a good time regardless if any of us end up pulling the trigger. I also picked up a javelina tag. No luck for anything else in New Mexico again this year.

Mozey congrats! If u need a a hand I'm available lol

All red for me, 0 for 7, first time that's ever happened to me. Kind of bummed. I at least usually get my 50% or better third choice deer, but not this year.

Dad & Uncle got Barbary and good friend got offrange Oryx March.

Congrats Mozey! That's freakin awesome. Congrats to all that drew.

Travis

Happy Happy Happy!
This is the first time I've drawn for New Mexico since 2008 and got my first choice.

Mozey,

My daughter drew that exact same hunt last year. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Congratulations on a super hunt!

You guys are all too kind--thank you, and thank you for the offers to share information. I'll probably be going on my first scouting trip next week, so I will be PM-ing you.

This was supposed to be the year that I didn't draw anything so I'm still in a little shock...but in a good way...

1 for 6 for me but drew a fun Archery Elk tag in 6C with my pops. My wife also drew a cow tag in 34 so I am looking forward to getting her on her first big game animal.

Mozey, so excited for you. Take it all in and enjoy all the anticipation and build up, it's about so much more than the harvest! The preparation for a hunt is just as much fun in my books!

Well Leftturnabq, I'll be breaking in my halon the hunt before you...drew 16d 1st . Great year overall Elk 16d, Deer 30 muzzy, oryx off-range (March) and Barbary 30. Still can't believe it . Leftturnabq send me a pm ...I live in Sandia Park

Glad they opened up the front door early before Nevada applications are due. I was getting tired of waiting and hoping the back door would open up.

No love for our family this year. No complaints though we have had lots of luck and lots of fun hunting in NM in the past.

Congrats to all that drew and enjoy your hunts!

Hi Mullins, congrats! Are you a R or NR, have you hunted 51 before?

Congrats again

Through in hunting around here and I have another great year to look forward to.
